You heard me. We have a super-special worship service coming for CBSM. Saturday, March 6th is going to a be a worship event purely focussed on missions for the glory of Christ. We’ll kick the night off at 5pm with a free FAJITA supper in our Gymnasium (FLC) at 5pm. Then at 6pm we’ll move over to our student building to hang out. Then at 6:30pm we’ll kick off our worship service with missions videos, missionary testimonies, testimonies from some of our students called to be missionaries, missions focussed worship songs, and a message from our guest speaker all the way from San Diego: Chuck Rheam (church planting missionary). All students from 7th - 12th grade are invited…no matter if you go to another church or not. We want YOU here for this as we all want to grow in our passion for Christ and our compassion for the nations of the world. See you here on Saturday, March 6th from 5 – 8pm. If you can’t come till 6:30pm…no problem…more fajitas for me!

CBSM Missions Worship Event
Downloads: Beach Camp Registration Card (pdf)
CBSM has a new camp scene this summer…we’re hitting up the BEACH! We’ll leave Monday, May 31 and return Saturday, June 5. We’ll be staying at the Gulf Shores Beach Retreat. We’ll be doing mission projects in the mornings, beach and pool in the afternoons, and worship services at night. We’ll have plenty of adult supervision going with us, and we have 72 spots open for CBSM middle schoolers, high schoolders, and their friends. Our speaker will be Josh Malone and our worship leader will be Tim Harvey. We want every student possible and their friends to come with us on this unforgettable and life-changing trip.
More info: The way to save your spot for this trip is to hand in your filled out registration card with a $150 check for the initial non-refundable deposit by Sunday, March 28th. Originally we said that we’ll only take Capshaw Baptist registrations first, but we changed our mind! So registration is open to all 7th – 12th grade students of CBSM and their friends. Your remaining balance of $175 will be due Sunday, May 16.

Ezra and Christmas Stage-Set
I just had to show off and brag on our stage-set for Ezra and Christmas through the month of December. Like boasting in Christ for our righteousness, I can brag about our set because I pretty much have very little to do with it. I can never take any credit. Our media dude, Andrew, comes up with the design. Our set design team (led by awesome adults (Dave and Amanda) constructs our set as much as they can on Sunday nights from 5 – 6pm. Then Andrew and I will usually finish everything up that they weren’t able to get to.
CBSM Ski Trip 2009 Recap
We just got back from our annual CBSM Ski Trip, so I just wanted to quickly think back through it for those of you who might be interested…or reminisce with me if you went!
We shoved off with 62 people filling our charter bus and 15 packer van at about 8am on Monday morning. On the ride up, God was really working in my heart concerning what to preach on for the trip’s worship services. Two years ago, I had spoken on loving each other. Last year, I had a guest speaker go on the trip with us. I was thinking through speaking on things like 1 John, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, Fellowship, Philippians 3, etc. God settled my heart on fellowship because of how much He used our ski trips in the past to develop deep fellowship between our students. I’ve seen students grow closer together, students get connected into our student ministry, and students become an active participant at CBSM through our ski trips in the past. KTL SPRING 2010 App and Schedule (doc)
Our KTL Ministry continues to be a huge hit at CBSM. KTL simply stands for kayruxon ton logon…which is Greek for “preach the Word.” That’s exactly what Paul kept repeating to Timothy over and over again. For whatever gracious reason, God continually is blessing us with many students who are called into the ministry. We want to be faithful to prepare these students not only for college, but also for immediate ministry opportunities that may come their way. We’ll have around 15-20 guys in our KTL ministry this spring, and possibly around 10 girls. The train the guys to teach and preach the Word, and we train the girls to teach the Word to other females and kiddies. So I just wanted to post for you our KTL Spring 2010 ministry application, expectations, and schedule. I pray this helps your mininstry somehow and in some way.
CBSM 2010 Event Calendar
CBSM Event Calendar 2010 (doc)
Here is the official release of our 2010 Calendar of Events. All dates are not final, and are subject to change. I just wanted to get this out there to yall who need to know our events, or for youth pastors who are looking for ideas in 2010. I’m posting our calendar with all my youth pastor notes and reminders within each month. I’m adding to this as I go to keep me up to speed during the whole year. I hope this helps you somehow!
