This “storyline~framework” blog is ultimately for pastors to students, youth ministers, Sunday school teachers, small group leaders, Christian school teachers, teenagers and college students who are interested in learning more about a Christocentric view of Scripture and doctrine.  The blog is everything we cover in our student ministry as we’re going through the entire Bible and all of systematic theology in a way that is pointed directly to Christ and relevantly applied to the life of students.   (Why We Do What We Do Every Wednesday mp3) Read the rest of this entry »

Quextions: Q&A Text Messags from 1 Chronicles 1-9

Quexts are when our students text in their questions from the sermon in our last worship service.  So this video is my humble attempt to answer their questions.  Here are the questions:

What in the world is an INTEGRATIVE MOTIF of Scripture?

What in the world is a CHRISTOCENTRIC HERMENEUTIC?

Festimonies and Announcements 2009 (mp3)

This is an mp3 of all the testimonies from our students regarding what God did i their lives from our HarvestFEST revival.  The first 10 minutes of the mp3 is how we do our announcements every Sunday morning.  If you want to skip that, feel free as you won’t hurt my feelings one bit.  Just simply skip ahead to 10:00 in the mp3.  We first brought up the 5 students who brought the most friends to student night of HarvestFEST.  We had 850 teens come that night.  A couple students brought over 30 friends each.  Another student brought over 20.  And many students brought 10 or more.  So the first 5 festimonies are from them.  These are an interview that I did with them on how they invited their friends and what strategies they used to get their friends to actually come.  Its hilarious!  But it is also a good way to learn how teens reach out and why teens come to church events.  The next 10 or so festimonies are from the students who were saved and/or baptized during HarvestFEST.  So you’ll get to hear how and what God worked in their lives from this great event and move of God!

Quextions: Q&A Text Messags from Yesterday

Quexts are when our students text in their questions from the sermon in our last worship service.  So this video is my humble attempt to answer their questions on Angels and Demons.  Here are the questions I answered:

How do I know if I have just head knowledge or true heart knowledge in the Gospel of Christ?

Do only the 144,000 go to heaven in Revelation 7:14?

1 Kings Sermon Intro Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LSGZNhiA7E

I am absolutely amazed at what God is currently doing in our church.  We just came off our revival week called “HarvestFEST.”  Get this: about 100 people saved, about 60 baptized, and 850 teens attended on student night.  It was one of the best weeks of my life.  I’m so thankful that God has included me in His plan to be a part of this miraculous work here in our church.  God is not only blessing us numerically, but He is also blessing so many personally.  I’ve counseled with many who have converted to Christ, who are repenting of sin, who are making decisions to follow Jesus more specifically, and who need answers to their questions.

So how’s your life?  Are you walking with Christ?  Have you given it totally over to Him for your eternal salvation by trusting in His death on the cross and therefore turning from your sin, and by trusting in His resurrection from the dead and therefore following Him as the Lord of your life?  Have you biblically obeyed Him by getting baptized in your church as the first step of your obedience?  Are you biblically a participating member of a local church and worshipping Jesus with other believers?  If you are someone who is a new believer, young in your faith, or still need to learn a whole lot…I have an apology for you.  We, as the church, can often do a very poor job of teaching you the basics on how to live your life for Christ, but God has led us to a few chapters this week that will show us exactly how we can live and walk with Jesus!  Read the rest of this entry »

Storyline #62: 2 Kings 6-16 “Angels and Demons: Seeing the Spirit Realm for What It Truly Is”

1 Kings Sermon Intro Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LSGZNhiA7E

“Angels and Demons” is the popular movie sequel from “The DaVinci Code.”  The plot is that the Pope dies and the Catholic Church’s four Cardinals are about to select a new Pope from four prospects.  Not only do the four prospects get kidnapped, but the four Cardinals are expected to be murdered.  Not only is it crazy weird plot line, but it also has nothing to do with angels and demons!  Movies like this are cleverly designed.

“The DaVinci Code” was designed to make the world doubt the Bible.  “Angels and Demons” was designed to make the world doubt the supernatural.  There are some teens who are too fascinated with the spirit realm, and there are others who are completely unconcerned.  We need to have a biblical balance of truly understanding it.   Read the rest of this entry »

Quexts: Q&A on Angels and Demons (2 Kings 6)

Quexts are when our students text in their questions from the sermon in our last worship service.  So this video is my humble attempt to answer their questions on Angels and Demons.  Here are the questions I answered:

Is it okay to read books like “Angels and Demons”?

Show me in the bible where angels are given the freedom to dwell in earth among man rather than only being sent explicitly by God.

Do angels or anything else inhabit houses?

Did you trick or treat when you were a kid?

Angels have to be sinless to be in heaven with God right?  But obviously satan wasnt being sinless when he led eve astray.  So what happened  with that?  Were angels made with a free will to sin?

How do you tell the difference between an angel and a demon if the demon is masked as an angel?
